GiftofKindness.com Needs Your Help We're embarking upon a relaunch of GiftofKindness.com and we need your help to do it! As you may know, my wife and I started this project a few years back as a fun idea to help inspire kindness in our local area. We had no idea it would take off and become such a huge success, not just locally but around the globe. This site now receives several thousands of visitors each month from all over and our free Kindness Cards are distributed and mailed to thousands as well. It's been a true blessing not only to us but to the many who it's made a difference to. That makes us smile and we hope it makes you smile as well! It's not just what this initiative is doing today, it's what it's doing for tomorrow as well. We receive letters and emails almost daily from school teachers who are taking ideas from this site and turning them into classroom activities to teach kids about kindness. There are so many example, so many stories, and so many opportunities to do even more... and that brings us to the main point of this letter. First, we're developing a new logo / identity for GiftofKindness.com. Would you take a quick second to glance at 5 possible logo ideas and cast your vote? See and vote here. Second, and more importantly, over the next few weeks we are looking to raise funds that will enable us to relaunch and grow this initiative way beyond what it is now and allow it to blossom into what it can become. For the last several years we have funded GiftofKindness.com on our own, through our personal finances, but the time has come where it has grown bigger than what we can do alone. This is where we need your help. Would you consider donating to help us in this effort? Any amount is fine. Whatever you can do. $5, $10, $25, $100 or more. It all adds up. Our goal is to raise $5000 by October 5, 2010 so that we can: 1. Have a new website built. 2. Create new school curriculum that can be shared with teachers and parents. 3. Offer more Kindness Cards to those who request them. 4. Launch additional resources to inspire kindness, such as Kindness365.com - a daily suggestion on how to make someone else's day. 5. And more! Although we've applied for a 501c3 status (the official nonprofit designation), we don't have it yet so any donation you make is unfortunately not tax deductible BUT please know that 100% of it is going to the development of this initiative and will be used wisely. Proper stewardship of our resources and yours is what makes us able to do more with less, and we like that. We promise to keep you informed of the progress of these updates.
